Sometime when we close a door on a time in our lives, a few more open but only if we allow it. Since I know this, I look forward to closing some doors lately or in this case slamming it.
A month or so ago, I closed a door on a really frustrating venture that lasted about five months. It was push and pull with the owner to reorganize his business. He told me from the very beginning that his friends, whom he mostly employs holds him back from moving forward with his ideas to solidify his business. He hired me as his consultant then decided to keep me as his club GM. We worked well together and accomplished many changes in his operations but his old staff kept fighting those changes. Seems they can’t let go of status quo, which included not making any money, nor gaining members.
I tried all I could to help them move forward but they refused, so I left. Sad thing is that they are now loosing staff at an embarrassing rate and anything else that we built.
A close friend of mine is still employed there and keeps me up to date on things. Soon he will also leave as he says they seem to be failing in every area and he sees them closing soon. Glad I slammed that door shut

It’s like I’ve dreamth (is this a word), standing in a hallway of doors and then opened each ‘cuz so many opportunities have come my way…my heads spinning….but I’m smiling too.
